Carnuntum
Approximately 40 km east of Vienna lays the Archeological Park Carnuntum.
In 6 AD, the later emperor Tiberius erected a secured winter camp in the
Carnuntum area - the hour of birth of one of the most important metropolises
of the Roman Empire. Carnuntum gives an impressive insight into the vibrant
life of the Romans.
